Milk has long been used as a fertilizer for many garden crops, and strawberries are no exception. This method is especially popular among Dutch and Crimean farmers.

A week after feeding, the strawberry bushes are completely different from themselves. Even the most unhealthy plants begin to grow actively. The leaves acquire a rich dark green hue, and the bed seems to be covered with a dense white carpet.

Milk also affects the size of the berries – they increase by 1.5 to 2 times.

A local farmer even bought expired milk from stores to use to water his plants.

However, it is important to maintain the correct proportions.

Therefore, I give concrete recommendations on the use of milk feeding.

Milk or skimmed milk
You need to consume skimmed milk or low-fat milk in a ratio of 1 to 50. For a standard 10-liter bucket, it is enough to add one glass of skimmed milk or low-fat milk. When using purchased milk, it is better to choose a product with a minimum fat content.

The solution must be sprayed evenly over the leaves until it is completely saturated; this is best done in the evening or in cloudy weather. The microelements contained in the milk enrich the soil and promote plant growth.

This solution also acts against pathogenic fungi and forms a protective fatty film that prevents the appearance of mites and mildew.

Sour milk or whey
An excellent option is the use of sour milk and whey. Here the proportions can be increased: for 10 liters of water add 1 liter of whey or yogurt. This solution can be used for watering the beds or for spraying. However, during flowering, spraying should be stopped.

It should be noted that using milk as a fertilizer for strawberries gives the best results before and after the plants flower.
