Orchid: Just one ingredient for an extraordinary bloom!

One of the most popular and appreciated plants is undoubtedly the   orchid   . We are talking about a magnificent plant that produces equally fascinating flowers. For this reason, it can be easily placed in environments such as offices, shops, etc. Therefore, not only in the garden or on the home terrace, but this plant is extremely versatile and can be chosen for different environments. It is precisely at this period, in spring, that the orchid awakens from the so-called   vegetative hibernation   .

For the plant to flower optimally, it is necessary that the plant has appropriate weather and climate conditions. In addition, it must be provided with sufficient lighting and protected from wind and rain. Did you know that there is a little trick to ensure that the orchid thrives optimally? We are talking about   cinnamon   . Let’s see how it can be used!

Orchid: Just one ingredient for an extraordinary bloom!

Cinnamon: fantastic spice

As we read,  cinnamon is   an element that can be decisive for the correct growth and therefore the flowering of the   orchid  . It is, as many already know, a spice very commonly used in cooking: it is so ancient that it is even mentioned in the   Bible  and, as studies show, it was already used by the Greeks, Latins and even the Egyptians . . Its spread in the West dates back mainly to the Middle Ages: in fact, in the first half of the 17th century, it was the Dutch who planted cinnamon trees directly from Sri Lanka (country of origin).

As we have already mentioned, cinnamon is now used in cooking, for example in the preparation of various desserts (the cinnamon roll is now famous). Unlike many other spices of this type, the part used in gastronomy comes from the stem or branches, which look like small brown parchment leaves. But why can it be used for the benefit of orchids?

Healthy and strong orchid: use cinnamon!

Cinnamon can be useful not only for its olfactory properties, but also for its   structure   . The stick can be used to support the stems of orchids: you need to   stick some of them in the ground,   taking care to leave space for the flowers to bloom. In addition, it must be said that cinnamon has extraordinary disinfectant properties: the spice therefore heals the plant even if the stems are broken or damaged. In short, we recommend that you use this extraordinary spice to immediately notice how useful it can be for our orchid.
