Everyone who grows cucumbers dreams of the highest possible yield.   I want to share with you a simple technique, thanks to which you can collect up to 11-13 kg of beautiful green fruits from one bush.

Growing cucumbers is not the easiest task. Bushes should be watered regularly and properly fertilized. The reward for diligence is a bountiful harvest. Simply water your cucumbers three times with this economical fertilizer to get a harvest that will be the envy of everyone!

What conditions do cucumbers need?

Cucumbers should be planted in open ground at the end of May or beginning of June. You need to choose a sunny place for them and make sure that the soil for growing is properly prepared. Cucumbers need plenty of humidity. It is important that air reaches the roots, therefore the soil around the plant must be loosened.

To grow and bear fruit properly, cucumbers need a lot of nutrients. One way to “feed” them is to use baking soda.

Why do cucumbers need soda?

Using baking soda to fertilize cucumbers provides benefits at several stages. The first application of fertilizer (immediately after planting) stimulates their growth. The second (during the flowering period) reduces the number of sterile flowers.

Processing carried out at the time of the appearance of young cucumbers on the bushes allows you to extend the fruiting period and increase the yield in general.

When to Use Baking Soda to Fertilize Cucumbers

As I already wrote, in order for fertilization with sodium bicarbonate to bring a positive result, it is necessary to carry out 3 treatments.

  1. The first time you need to fertilize the plants   is 14 days after planting them   in open ground.
  2. After another 14 days,   we carry out a second feeding with soda solution.
  3. The third –   when you notice that fruits begin to appear on the bushes   .

How to prepare fertilizer

Preparing a fertilizer with baking soda is very simple.   For the first two procedures, it is necessary to dissolve 80 g of soda in 10 liters of warm water.

For the third treatment, use 60 g of soda per 10 liters of water and add 3-4 drops of iodine to the liquid.   Always mix the medicine carefully.

Water the cucumbers with soda solution in the morning or evening and they will give a generous and tasty harvest!
