Vinegar and hydrangeas: properties
Vinegar applied to plants is nothing new. Many use it for its fantastic properties capable of repelling insects and therefore fighting diseases that can affect both leaves and roots.
Another thing that everyone may not know is that vinegar can even neutralize mold growth. In short, using vinegar on hydrangeas provides several important benefits that can guarantee maximum health for the plant: it even affects the pH of the soil.
With a little vinegar, the plant can feed better , although important precautions must be taken. If used in large quantities, the opposite effect can be achieved. Especially if the vinegar used is very acidic, it can damage the plant irreversibly.
Useful information
If the hydrangea looks weak or yellowed, it’s time to check the soil. In fact, the plant has difficulty assimilating iron from the soil, as well as the nutrients present there. This happens because the pH is too high.
It is not uncommon for this problem to depend on the tap water at home: in fact, it tends to be rich in limestone and this causes a very alkaline pH . If possible, it is advisable to water plants such as hydrangeas with rainwater or let tap water stand for about a day so that limescale remains can settle.
How to Use Vinegar on Hydrangeas
Hydrangea vinegar can be used by mixing it with water: generally choose one tablespoon per 4 to 5 liters of water . After 24 hours you will be able to notice a bright color of the plant and, over time, you will be able to see how it becomes strong and healthy. Don’t overuse vinegar and you will see that the results will surprise you!
