One of the most used aromatic herbs in cooking is coriander  .  In addition to offering great flavor  , it  has many medicinal properties  .

Cilantro is necessary and basic in the kitchen  ,  and what could be better than having your own plant at home to be able to grab it at any time  .

If you want to know  how to plant coriander  , in this article we explain  how to do it in its different forms  :

  1. Buy a bunch of cilantro  from a store or supermarket.
  2. Fill a glass a little less than half full of water  and add the coriander stems  .
  3. Refill and change the water over the days  as the plant absorbs what it needs  .
  4. After 1 week to 10 days  ,  the stems begin to develop small roots  .
  5. If the roots are long enough  ,  it is time to transplant the coriander into a pot  .
  6. After sowing  ,  the shoots take around 15 days to appear  .

Method  #  1  :  In the water

  1. Cut 1 stem of 10 cm  .
  2. Place it in a place exposed to direct sunlight  .
  3. Expect up to 2cm of roots to grow  .
  4. Plant the sprouts in a pot  .

Method  #  2  :  On Earth

  1. Fill a pot 3/4 full  with  soil  .
  2. Place the stem in a container or glass of water  .
  3. Water the soil until it is moist  .
  4. Place 4 to 6 coriander seeds and cover them with 1 cm of soil  .
  5. Water with a spray bottle  ,  never make puddles  of water.

– Allows sunshine for 3 to 7 hours per day  .

–  Pick the coriander by cutting the leaves and stems at the base when it measures 15 cm  .

What you need to know about the coriander plant  :

  • The best planting season is spring  ,  although it grows all year round  .
  • The harvest of the small leaves takes place after 6 weeks  and the harvest of the seeds after  12-14  weeks.
  • Preferably avoid transplanting  .
  • For each seed, 2 plants are born  .
  • Keep the soil moist  .
  • Keep the plant away from fertilizers  .
  • Plant in deep pots  (  30 cm  ).
