Ingredients:
- 500 g flour
- 80 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 200 ml warm milk
- 60 g melted butter
- 10 g fresh yeast or 1 sachet dry yeast
- 1 pinch salt
- Oil for frying
- Icing sugar or icing for decoration
Preparation:
- In a bowl, mix the warm milk with the yeast and a tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes until the yeast is activated and foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, the rest of the sugar and the salt. Add the eggs, melted butter and yeast mixture. Knead until you have a smooth and elastic dough.
- Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Deflate the dough by kneading it lightly, then roll it out on a floured work surface to a thickness of about 1 cm. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out the donuts, then a smaller one to make a hole in the center.
- Place the donuts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large frying pan. Fry the donuts for a few minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain them on kitchen paper, then sprinkle with icing sugar or dip them in a glaze of your choice.
- Let cool slightly before enjoying these delicious homemade donuts!
