It’s the flan that everyone always likes!

Ingredients

1 kg of potato
2 eggs
200 g of mozzarella (or provola)
100 g of grated parmesan
100 g of salad (or cooked ham, to taste)
1 onion (optional)
Butter (to butter the pan)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Breadcrumbs (to dust the pan)
Nutmeg (optional)

Preparation

Boil the potatoes: Put the potatoes in a pot with salted water and cook them until they are tender (about 30-40 minutes). Drain them and let them cool, then peel them and mash them with a potato masher.
Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, eggs, grated parmesan, salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix well until you get a smooth mixture.
Add the filling: Add the mozzarella cut into cubes and the salami (or cooked ham) in pieces. If using onion, you can fry it in a pan and add it to the mixture.
Butter the pan: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter a pan and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs to prevent the gateau from sticking.
Pour the mixture: Transfer the mixture to the pan, leveling it well. Sprinkle the surface with a little breadcrumbs and add a few flakes of butter.
Bake: Bake the gateau for about 30-40 minutes, or until the surface is golden and crispy.
Serve: Let it cool before serving. The potato gateau is excellent both hot and at room temperature!
Tips
Variations: You can enrich the filling with other vegetables, such as spinach or mushrooms.
Storage: The gateau keeps well in the refrigerator and can be reheated in the oven.
Enjoy your meal!
