INGREDIENTS
- 200 g of 00 flour;
- 50 g potato starch;
- 200 g egg whites;
- 140 g of granulated sugar;
- 120 ml of sunflower seed oil;
- 60 ml of water;
- 60 ml of orange or lemon juice;
- Grated zest of half a lemon;
- 1 sachet of baking powder;
- 100g chocolate chips or chocolate pieces
- 1 pinch of salt.
STEP
- Beat the egg whites with the sugar until stiff. To obtain a good result, the egg whites must be at room temperature;
- In a bowl, sift the flour together with the starch and baking powder;
- After that add the liquids (oil, water, orange or lemon juice (filtered);
- Add the grated lemon zest and mix everything well;
- The mixture must be compact;
- After that we add two tablespoons of whipped egg whites and mix vigorously;
- Add the remaining egg whites, whipped until stiff, and mix gently from top to bottom;
- Now let’s complete with the chocolate chips or pieces and mix delicately;
- Pour the mixture into a greased and floured pan (22 cm in diameter) (alternatively, you can line the pan with baking paper;
- Cook our donut in the oven (preheated fan oven) at 180 degrees for 30/35 minutes;
- Remove from the oven and let cool, then transfer the cake to a nice serving dish;
- Sprinkle with plenty of icing sugar and…. ENJOY!!
