Pasta and Peas Campanian recipe, easy and tasty

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 g of peas (already cooked);
  • 350 g of short pasta (I used broken spaghetti);
  • 150 g diced bacon;
  • 80 g of grated cheese (I used pecorino);
  • 700 ml of water;
  • Pepper, salt and extra virgin olive oil to taste

STEP

  1. Pour 5 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil into a saucepan;
  2. Pour the diced bacon into the pan with the oil and fry;
  3. Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon and place it on a plate and set aside;
  4. Add the chopped onion to the pan with the oil and brown;
  5. After that add the peas (already cooked previously), cook for a few moments;
  6. Add the hot water (it should cover the peas);
  7. Season with salt and cook over medium heat with a lid for 10 minutes;
  8. Take a cup of peas and blend them;
  9. Add the pasta to the peas and mix for a few minutes to flavour;
  10. Add water as it is absorbed and cook;
  11. Two minutes before, add the pea cream, the bacon, a generous handful of grated cheese, the pepper and mix;
  12. The pasta and peas must be nice and creamy;
  13. Plate immediately and… enjoy your meal!
