DIY WASHING MACHINE CARE: Here’s how
For this natural and environmentally friendly homemade washing machine cleaner you will receive:
Citric acid, 200 g
distilled water, 1 liter
tea tree oil, 30 drops

Using a funnel, pour the distilled water into the empty bottle and add the drops of tea tree oil and citric acid. Close with the stopper and shake vigorously—you want to ensure the citric acid granules are completely dissolved. And now it’s ready to use.
What do you need to add now? Simply pour half of the solution into the washing machine drawer and set it to an empty cycle with a temperature of at least 60°C.
While the transported substances have a high degreasing power, they are also capable of dissolving limescale deposits and preventing their formation. They also act as a natural antibacterial agent.
You can use the rest a second time or use it to clean the basket and seals by simply moistening a sponge or cloth and wiping it over the entire visible surface.
Repeat these steps once a month and you will ensure a perfectly functioning appliance, flawless and fragrant laundry and thorough hygiene in the long run.
