Lemons, why should you cook them

Lemons can help with the flu, a respiratory infection caused by a virus that spreads easily and  affects different areas of the body such as the nose, lungs and throat  .

Although it can be confused with a cold due to some symptoms, influenza symptoms appear much more quickly (2 to 3 days after infection).

In addition, this infection can be recognized by its own symptoms such as high fever,  dry cough,  body aches and even nausea and vomiting.

Lemon and ginger for colds

The following recipe is healthy and tasty and features lemon and ginger.  It’s also very good for the immune system and has anti-cold properties . Let’s see what you need and how to make it.

Lemon slices

For this recipe we need:

  • 2 lemons (preferably organic),
  • a jar of honey according to personal taste,
  • a ginger root.

For this recipe, we should use  organic lemons  . Alternatively, you can also use lemons from the ground, making sure to clean the peel thoroughly by first rubbing it with fine salt after   placing it in a bowl of lukewarm water .

The fine salt, with its abrasive action, removes  all traces of impurities that have settled on the peel. This must be done for both lemons, then rinsed under running water and then  rubbed with a handful of baking soda .

Finally, add more baking soda to the bowl and  soak the lemons for 15 minutes , then drain the water and begin preparing the recipe.

Warm water is poured into a saucepan and the jar is added, which must be boiled to sterilize it, as in the preparation of jam.

In the meantime, clean the  ginger root  and remove the outer skin. The ginger can also be omitted, as it adds flavor to the dish.

Therefore,  you cut a nice piece of ginger into thin slices.  After washing the lemons, dry them with a tea towel and cut off the tips, i.e., the two ends of the lemon.

If the citrus fruit is damaged at any point, the parts should be removed and then start  cutting the lemon into thin rings by removing the seeds .
