Growing tangerines at home is a great option for those who have a passion for gardening or want to ensure they are eating fruit without pesticides or chemicals.

Few people know that it is possible to grow tangerines at home, despite the limited space. In any case, it must be taken into account that the height of the mandarin tree can reach two meters.

In addition to being aesthetically beautiful, mandarin gives off a very pleasant aroma. The fruits are rich in vitamins C and B, but also in carotene and citric acid. Below we explain how to grow tangerines in pots.

The first thing to do is to get some tangerine seeds and wash them well to remove the remains of the fruit pulp. It is suggested to collect the seeds from a fully ripe fruit. Dry the seeds well using absorbent paper.

The pot must be approximately 30 centimeters high, and the soil must be of good quality, that is to say rich in macro and micronutrients. Plant the seeds about 3 centimeters deep, then lightly moisten the soil. The plant will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to germinate.

Place the pot in a sunny corner of the house. Although it is a tree that resists cold well, it needs a lot of sun.

The tangerine plant needs large amounts of water. Remember to also provide good drainage for the plant. During the first few weeks, water about 3 times a week, after which you should do it whenever the soil feels dry to the touch.

The mandarin tree can bear its first fruits after a year.
