Result: homemade gel for irrigation!

Your homemade gel for irrigation is ready.

Simple, fast and effective, but above all very economical!

Commercial watering gels are not cheap and are also full of chemicals.

With this homemade gel, the soil stays moist and lasts up to 20/25 days.

So the plants survive even during long holiday periods.

A 250 gram block is sufficient to “irrigate” a 20 cm diameter pot for approximately 20 days (excluding heat waves).

It is biodegradable and completely eco-friendly.

Furthermore, it reduces the phenomenon of evaporation when it is very hot.

Always prepare sufficiently in advance before leaving.

Keep it in a thin refrigerator until you use it.

Once the mixture is well solidified and has the consistency of a gel, you can use it.

It should be quite solid, a bit like slime.

Water the plant thoroughly and then place the gel block in the soil.

As it dries, the soil absorbs the moisture contained in the gel.

So the soil always remains moist without being soaked.

Tip: If you have a lot of plants, make a large batch of gel.

It can be divided easily to fit each pot.

It can be cut with a knife and it works because the gel retains water thanks to agar-agar, a vegetable gelatin.

Agar-agar is a 100% natural marine algae that gradually absorbs and disperses water.

Then the water drips slowly and keeps the soil moist.

Plants do not suffer from drought thanks to this gel, you can even fertilize them, especially if you use mineral-rich water.
