Servings: 20-24 balls
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients
For the Oreo Filling:
- 1 package (15.25 oz / 432g) Oreos (regular or gluten-free)
 - 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (optional for that Grinchy mint flavor)

For the Green Coating:
- 12 oz (340g) green candy melts or white chocolate (with green food coloring if using plain white chocolate)
 - 1 tsp coconut oil (or vegetable oil)

For Garnish (Optional):
- Red candy melts or red sprinkles (to create the Grinch’s heart or decorations)

Instructions
- Prepare the Oreo Filling:
- Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and smashing them with a rolling pin.
 - In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese and peppermint extract (if using).
 - Use a hand mixer or spoon to blend until fully incorporated. The mixture should be thick and sticky, making it easy to form into balls.

 - Form the Oreo Balls:
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the Oreo mixture and roll them into balls using your hands.
 - Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet or silicone mat.
 - Refrigerate the balls for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up and make them easier to dip.

 - Prepare the Green Coating:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts (or white chocolate with green food coloring) and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted.

 - Coat the Oreo Balls:
- Once the Oreo balls have chilled and firmed up, dip each ball into the green melted candy coating.
 - Use a fork to lift the ball out of the coating and tap gently to remove any excess.
 - Place the coated ball back on the parchment paper to set.

 - Add the Grinchy Heart:
- If you want to make these truly Grinch-inspired, use red candy melts or red sprinkles to make little hearts on the top of each ball.
 - You can create a simple heart shape by melting a small amount of red candy melts and piping it onto the ball, or sprinkle some red sugar for a festive touch.

 - Chill and Serve:
- Refrigerate the finished Oreo balls for another 30 minutes to set the coating completely.
 - Once the chocolate is firm, serve and enjoy the Grinchy goodness!

Do’s and Don’ts
DO:
- Use peppermint extract to give these Oreo balls that Grinchy, minty zing! It’s a small touch but adds big flavor.
 - Refrigerate the balls between steps to ensure the coating stays smooth and doesn’t melt before setting.

DON’T:
- Forget to tap the excess coating off the Oreo balls to avoid a thick, messy coating.
 - Overheat the candy melts. Stir and heat in intervals to prevent them from burning or becoming too thick.

Pro Tips:
- If you don’t want to use candy melts, you can substitute with white chocolate chips and add green food coloring. Just make sure to add a little coconut oil to keep the chocolate smooth.
 - For an even more festive touch, try drizzling a little extra red candy coating on top of the green balls to create a fun pattern.

These Grinch Oreo Balls are not only adorable but absolutely delicious! They’re the perfect treat for Christmas parties, holiday gatherings, or just as a little Grinchy snack to put you in the festive mood. 🎄💚🎅
