Ingredients

  • 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix (dry)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom for a twist)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Place the chicken breasts (or thighs) directly into the bottom of your slow cooker. Don’t bother thawing them—frozen works just fine!
  2. Mix the Seasonings:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the ranch seasoning mix and onion soup mix.
    • Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Add the Soup and Water:
    • Pour the can of cream of chicken soup over the chicken and seasoning, spreading it out evenly.
    • Add the water and give everything a little mix, just to get the soup blended in with the seasoning.
  4. Set It and Forget It:
    • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, depending on the size of your chicken pieces and how hot your slow cooker runs. The chicken will be tender and fall apart with a fork once it’s done.
  5. Shred and Serve:
    • After the chicken is cooked, use two forks to shred it directly in the slow cooker. Stir everything together, making sure the shredded chicken is coated with the creamy sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Optionally, sprinkle with fresh parsley to add a pop of color. Serve it over rice, mashed potatoes, or with a side of veggies. It’s so good, you might want to lick the plate clean!
