Ingredients:
Ripe tomatoes (preferably different varieties in color and flavor)
Fresh basil
Mozzarella or burrata balls (optional)
Extra virgin olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and cut them into slices or cubes, depending on how you want to serve them. Arrange them on a serving platter or in a bowl.
Remove the basil leaves from the stems and tear them roughly over the tomatoes.
If using mozzarella or burrata balls, place them between the tomato slices or cubes.
Dress the salad generously with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toss gently to distribute the flavors, being careful not to crush the tomatoes.
