Ingredients:
5 egg whites
1 cup sugar
5 egg yolks
2 cups cornstarch
Directions:
In a bowl, beat the egg whites for one minute until foamy.
Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat, until the whites reach stiff peaks.
Add the egg yolks one at a time, beating after each addition until well combined.
Gradually add the cornstarch, mixing gently with a whisk until everything is incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
Pour the mixture into a 22 cm buttered and floured cornstarch pan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Unmold the warm cake and enjoy its light and fluffy texture.
