Tender chicken bites wrapped in an irresistible citrus sauce, perfect for a light and flavorful dish!
Ingredients
- 600 g chicken breast
- 2 untreated oranges (juice and zest)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 50 ml dry white wine
- 00 flour to taste
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Chicken preparation : Cut the chicken breast into thin strips, obtaining the strips . Lightly flour them with the 00 flour , making sure to remove the excess.
- Initial Cooking : In a large skillet, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and cook until golden brown on both sides. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
- Deglaze with wine : Once the chicken is well browned, deglaze with the dry white wine. Let the alcohol evaporate, stirring occasionally, for about 2 minutes.
- Adding Orange Juice : Squeeze the oranges and add the juice to the pan. Also grate the zest of an orange and add it to the chicken for a more citrusy flavor.
- Final Cooking : Continue cooking over medium-low heat for another 5 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the orange flavor and the sauce to thicken slightly. If the sauce is too thin, you can add a small amount of flour to thicken it.
- Seasoning : Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
- Service : Serve the orange chicken strips hot, garnishing with some fresh orange peel for a decorative and aromatic touch. This dish pairs perfectly with light sides such as fresh salads or grilled vegetables.
