Chickpea Chips: the recipe for a healthy and quick snack!
Ingredients
- 400 g cooked chickpeas ( fresh or canned, well drained)
- 1 – 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika (or other spices to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon rosemary (optional)
Instructions
- Preparing the chickpeas: If you are using canned chickpeas, drain and rinse them well under running water. Then, dry them thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Dressing: In a large bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with the olive oil, paprika, salt, pepper, and rosemary, if desired. Toss well to ensure each chickpea is evenly coated with the dressing.
- Cooking: Preheat oven to 200°C. Place the seasoned chickpeas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spreading them out in a single layer to ensure even cooking. Bake for 20-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the chickpeas are golden and crispy.
- Cooling and serving: Once cooked, let the chickpeas cool on the baking sheet. This step is essential to achieve optimal crunchiness. Serve the chickpea chips at room temperature as a healthy snack or add them to your salads for a crunchy touch.
