Ingredients
- 250g grated coconut
- 240g sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 125g icing sugar
- 80g chopped walnuts ( optional)
- 225g white or dark chocolate ( to be melted)
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the grated coconut , powdered sugar , and chopped walnuts (if using). Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
- Add the wet ingredients:
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients mixture. Mix until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky.
- Form the balls:
- With slightly damp hands, scoop out small amounts of dough and form walnut-sized balls. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Cool the balls:
- Place the tray in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, allowing the balls to solidify and facilitate subsequent covering with chocolate.
- Melt the chocolate:
- Melt white or dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth and free of lumps. For tips on how to melt chocolate to perfection, see this guide .
- Cover the balls:
- Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, making sure they are completely covered. Shake off any excess chocolate and place the balls back on the lined tray.
- Leave to solidify:
- Once covered, let the balls cool at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate has completely solidified.
