Meatballs with Peas

Meatballs with peas are made with simple and genuine ingredients. To obtain a tasty dish, it is important to select the ingredients carefully, starting with the meat. The most used meats are beef and pork, but you can also opt for a mix of minced meat. Eggs, breadcrumbs and grated cheese complete the base of the meatballs, giving them the right consistency.


Ingredients

  • 500g minced meat (beef, pork or mixed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g of breadcrumbs
  • 50g grated cheese (parmesan or pecorino)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 300g of fresh or frozen peas
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

Making meatballs with peas is quite simple. First, you need to mix the meat with eggs, breadcrumbs and cheese until you get a smooth mixture. With wet hands, form balls of uniform size. Then, in a large pan, brown the meatballs in olive oil until golden brown, turning them gently.

Notes

For a perfect cooking of the peas, add the chopped onion to the same pan after browning the meatballs, and fry lightly. Then, add the peas, letting them cook for about 10 minutes.
