Ingredients
- Dark chocolate : 100 g (or milk chocolate for a sweeter taste)
- Chopped walnuts : 100 g
- Egg : 1
- Sugar : 100 g (preferably cane for a richer flavour)
- Flour : 100 g
- Baking powder : 1 teaspoon
- Seed oil : 50 ml (or melted butter, if you prefer)
- Salt : a pinch
- Powdered sugar for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preparation of ingredients:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Butter and flour a cake tin about 20cm in diameter.
- Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
- Preparation of the dough:
- In a bowl, beat the egg and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the seed oil or melted butter and mix well.
- Add the cooled melted chocolate , continuing to mix.
- Sift together the flour , baking powder and a pinch of salt , then add them to the mixture, mixing until you obtain a smooth dough.
- Finally, add the chopped walnuts , mixing gently to distribute them evenly.
- Cooking:
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan, leveling the surface with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Once cooked, remove the cake from the oven and leave it to cool on a rack.
- If desired, sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
