A delicious and healthy dessert, with no added sugar, perfect to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Ingredients
140 g oatmeal (about 1 and 1/2 cups)
250 ml milk (you can use almond milk or oat milk for a vegan version)
2 ripe bananas
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional for an extra touch of flavor)
1 pinch cinnamon (optional for a warm and enveloping aroma)
Method
Prepare the bananas
Start by peeling the bananas and mash them with a fork until you get a soft puree. You can leave a few small pieces to add a little texture!
Cook the oat mixture
In a saucepan, bring the milk to the boil. Once hot, add the oatmeal and mix well. Cook over low heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until it becomes a thick cream.
Add cocoa and flavorings
When the oat cream is ready, add the bitter cocoa, vanilla extract and a pinch of cinnamon. Mix well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Add the banana puree
At this point, add the banana puree to the pan and mix until well incorporated. If you like it sweeter, you can mash a little extra banana directly into the mixture!
Serve
Pour your dessert into cups or a single container, let it cool for a few minutes and then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up. The result will be a creamy and refreshing dessert!
Extra Tips
Add some crunch: If you want a contrast in texture, try garnishing with chopped nuts (almonds, hazelnuts) or chia seeds for a crunchy touch.
Vegan variations: For a completely vegan version, use plant-based milk (almond, coconut, oat) and make sure the cocoa is sugar-free.
No cooking? If you prefer an even quicker dessert, you can mix the raw ingredients and let it rest in the fridge for an hour as if it were a pudding.
