Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk, mix well and wait 5 minutes;
After that, take a bowl, pour in the flour, the salt (put it on the sides of the flour, it must not come into contact with the yeast), the eggs, the sugar, the oil and the yeast dissolved in the milk and start collecting the ingredients with a fork;
After that, transfer to a pastry board and work well for about 15 minutes, helping yourself with the flour as support… the mixture must be smooth and soft;
Form a loaf, cover with a damp cloth and leave to rise in the oven with only the light on for 1 hour and a half until it doubles in volume;
Now take the dough and form a cylinder and cut 11 pieces, form balls of 55/60 g each;
Roll out each ball with a rolling pin and fill with apricot jam, close well and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper, with the seal facing downwards;
Let it rise again, always covered with a cloth and in the oven, for another hour;
After that, preheat the oven to 180 degrees, brush the Danubio with milk;
Cook for about 25-30 minutes, in the lower part of the oven (place the pan on the second shelf of the oven), if it should brown too much, after 20 minutes cover with a sheet of tin foil;
Remove from the oven and let cool;
Sprinkle the Danubio with icing sugar, it’s really delicious, try making it!!
