Growing garlic indoors is not rocket science!

Are you a big garlic eater? Do most of your recipes contain garlic?

So it won’t be a waste of time.

Anyway, if you already have a garden, regardless of diet, gardening is never a waste of time, but a hobby.

And if you have too many vegetables, grass or fruit, give them away! There is nothing more beautiful than a gift from nature!

Here are some great tips for successfully growing garlic at home:

If you want to plant garlic outdoors, it is best to plant it in the ground in the fall and you will have to wait until next summer to harvest.
A piece of advice from the almanac.

For best results, get your garlic cloves from a garden center rather than buying them from the supermarket.
The variety you buy in the store is not suitable for that particular climate.

According to Martha Stewart, growing garlic bulbs outdoors helps them receive better nutrients.

You need to care for your sprouts all year round by watering them, unless you live in a country where the cold winter puts the plants to sleep. But you can only harvest in July.
If you are planting the bulbs indoors:

1) Simply hang a yogurt cup and poke holes in the bottom.

2) Add some organic potting soil. Fill the pot about 1/2 inch with soil.

3) Carefully break the garlic bulbs into individual cloves, leaving the skin of each clove intact. However, it’s okay if it crumbles a little

4) Press each pod into the soil and add about 2.5 cm (1 inch) of soil with the pointed end facing the top of the pot. You can plant up to 12 pods glued on top of each other.

5) Cut off any re-growing flowers to preserve as much of the good garlic flavor as possible

6) Place the pot on a saucer to catch excess water, water well and place in a sunny location.

Water to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. But garlic is not a very thirsty plant

7) If you don’t have a yogurt pot, use a large margarine pan cut open widthwise, like in the photo. As long as it is drilled and there is good water drainage

8) Once the garlic has 5-6 leaves it is ready to grow!
