How to Grow Garlic in Pots and Have an Endless Supply

Garlic is one of the simplest and cheapest plants to grow in pots  at home. It’s a staple in the kitchen, boasting countless health benefits and often being used as a natural remedy.

Garlic has many healing properties: it is rich in nitrogenous substances, sodium, potassium, selenium, calcium, magnesium, silicon, phosphoric acid, vitamins C, D and B, phytosterols and essential oils.

It also contains allicin, which is formed during the mechanical destruction of plants, meaning that it is by crushing or grinding garlic that the maximum benefits of its properties are obtained. Studies have shown that allicin has a strong bacteriostatic effect, which treats infections more quickly.

To  grow garlic in a pot,  you only need a garlic clove, a container, and soil.

Take the container and fill it with potting soil. Separate the garlic cloves and place them upright in the soil at a depth of about 3 centimeters.
Place the container in a sunny part of the house and water it when the soil is dry, as you would any other plant.

Once it reaches 7 to 10 centimeters in height, cut the plant back and leave about 2 to 3 centimeters for regrowing. After a while, the plants will dry out and turn brown. Now it’s time to remove it from the soil; each clove will have formed a bulb with several segments. Take one of these wedges and repeat the process.
