Tomatoes are not only the most delicious, but also quite capricious vegetables that you can successfully grow in your garden. However, before that, you need to take measures to get strong and healthy seedlings. Let’s look at how to properly sow tomatoes in February to grow seedlings.

For beginners, it is recommended to choose tomato hybrids marked F1. They are highly resistant to diseases and various weather conditions and give a good harvest with minimal care. Sowing tomatoes begins with the selection of a suitable soil. Currently, many gardeners prefer to buy soil in the store; try to choose soil with an acidity of 6-6.5 pH, which ensures the best absorption of nutrients by tomato seedlings.

The acidity of the soil is usually indicated on packages of soil mixtures. To improve the soil, add sand, potassium magnesia and coconut substrate. These components will give the soil porosity, looseness and provide the necessary nutrition. Also, add ground onion peel and chopped moss to disinfect the soil.

Before sowing, soak tomato seeds in chlorhexidine for disinfection and then in melt water. Leave the seeds wrapped in a cloth in melt water for 24 hours and in zircon for another hour.

For better growth, it is recommended to plant tomatoes in a common container and then pick them. This will make the seedlings stronger, as tomatoes love transplanting and pruning.

Plant the seeds lightly and with moderate spacing between them to avoid the occurrence of blackleg.

Close the containers with lids and place them near the battery, adjusting the soil humidity and removing condensation from the lids.
