Lemon Cake with Cream: The Perfect Recipe for a Soft and Fresh Dessert

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of milk at room temperature
  • 1 stick of melted butter at room temperature
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • Icing sugar for dusting the top

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a greased baking tray.
  • Beat the eggs with the cream of tartar until frothy.
  • Add the sugar and continue whipping.
  • Add the vanilla extract, milk, melted butter, lemon juice and zest.
  • Gradually add the flour and mix gently until you obtain a smooth dough.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 50 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool completely before dusting with icing sugar.
