Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups of milk at room temperature
- 1 stick of melted butter at room temperature
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- Icing sugar for dusting the top
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a greased baking tray.
- Beat the eggs with the cream of tartar until frothy.
- Add the sugar and continue whipping.
- Add the vanilla extract, milk, melted butter, lemon juice and zest.
- Gradually add the flour and mix gently until you obtain a smooth dough.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before dusting with icing sugar.
