Ingredients
- 500 g of Manitoba flour
- 2 eggs
- 200 ml of warm milk
- 100 g of melted butter
- 80 g of sugar
- Grated zest of 1 lemon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 sachet of dry brewer’s yeast (about 7 g)
- For the finishing: 1 egg (for brushing), icing sugar (optional).
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the Manitoba flour , baking powder, and sugar.
- Add the warm milk and eggs, mixing well to combine the ingredients.
- Combine the melted butter and lemon zest, continuing to mix until the mixture is smooth.
Notes
Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours, covered with a damp cloth. After rising, form balls of about 50 g each and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush each bun with beaten egg for a perfect golden brown.
