Ingredients:
6 slices of crustless sandwich bread
3 slices of cooked ham
6 slices of cheese (emmental, cheddar or gouda)
1 beaten egg
2 tablespoons of butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preparation of the rolls: Roll out each slice of sandwich bread with a rolling pin. Cut the slices of ham in half and place one half on each slice of bread. Add a slice of cheese on top of the ham and roll up gently, tightening well.
Cooking: Dip each roll in the beaten egg and brown it in a hot pan with melted butter. Cook over medium heat, turning until golden and the cheese has melted. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Service: Serve the rolls warm, accompanied by a green salad or crunchy vegetables.
