Meatballs in Tomato Sauce – A Classic of the Kitchen!

Ingredients (for 4 people):

20 meatballs 🍖
2 fresh tomatoes 🍅
1 sprig of thyme 🌿
1 sprig of parsley 🌿
1 sprig of rosemary 🌱
1 clove of garlic 🧄
4 tablespoons of olive oil 🛢️
Salt and pepper to taste 🧂🌶️

Preparation:

Prepare the tomato sauce:
Wash the tomatoes, cut them into quarters and remove the hard part.
In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the thyme, parsley, rosemary and whole garlic. Season with salt and pepper and sauté for about 1 minute.
Add the tomatoes and cover the pan. Let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook the meatballs:
In another pan, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides until they are well colored.
Add the meatballs to the sauce:
Once golden, transfer the meatballs to the tomato sauce. Stir well to flavor them and let them cook together for a few more minutes, so that the flavors blend.
Tips and Variations:
Accompaniment: Serve the meatballs with fresh pasta or rice for a complete and delicious dish.
Variations: You can add chopped onion or chili pepper to give an extra touch to the sauce.
Storage: The meatballs can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days or can be frozen for future use
