Ingredients (per circa 12 sfogliatine):
1 rotolo di pasta sfoglia rettangolare pronta
200 g of gamer sgusciati and puliti
1 spicchio d’aglio
2 cucchiai di olio d’oliva
50 g cream cheese (Philadelphia type)
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg (for brushing)
Sesame or poppy seeds (optional, for decoration)
Preparation
Make the filling:In a pan, heat the olive oil and add the finely chopped garlic.Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until pink and cooked through.Remove from the heat, roughly chop the shrimp, and mix with the cream cheese and parsley.Make the puff pastry:Roll out the puff pastry and cut out squares of about 8×8 cm.Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each square.Seal the puff pastry:Fold the puff pastry into triangles or parcels, pressing the edges well to seal. Use a fork to decorate the edges.
Decoration:
Brush the surface of the puff pastry with beaten egg and, if desired, add sesame or poppy seeds for an extra touch.
Cooking:
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Place the puff pastry on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, until they are puffed up and golden.
Tips
Filling variations: You can add a pinch of paprika or a few drops of lemon juice to the prawns for a stronger flavour.
Vegetarian version: Replace the prawns with grilled vegetables or sautéed mushrooms.
Serve the puff pastry hot or warm, perhaps accompanied by a light yoghurt sauce or flavoured mayonnaise. They are ideal for buffets, aperitifs or as a refined starter. Enjoy your meal!
